Robust Ethernet Connectivity for Tethered Drones
The Digital LYNX provides high-bandwidth and reliable data transfer over power lines for complex, data-intensive applications. Atlanta Instrument and Measurement developed the Digital LYNX for quick and easy integration into existing copper power systems for Aerostats and other remotely operated vehicles. The Digital LYNX capabilities remove the need for potentially insecure wireless data solutions, or for brittle optical fiber data solutions–providing a truly persistent data connection.
Our base Digital LYNX model provides 10/100 Ethernet data transmission over power lines with up to 1,000 VDC. A high voltage model can be used to work with higher voltages. The Digital Lynx can further expand its capabilities to include video encoding and serial communication protocols by adding expansion boards. With its small size/weight, low power consumption, and wide power supply range, Digital LYNX is an ideal product for many embedded systems that require fast, long range, and secure data transmission.
The application space for transmitting and receiving data over power cables is diverse. In addition to assisting in data transfer from tethered aerial drones, aerostats, or underwater remotely operated vehicles, Digital LYNX can transfer data over power cables in any RF-challenged environment. For pipe inspection, offshore rig inspection, surveillance, and reconnaissance, our expansion boards provide a low-cost way to transmit camera feeds 1000+ feet.

The LYNX-UART-XB is an expansion board that adds support for two channels of RS232
